Patrick Lajeunesse is a Professor in the Department of Geography at Laval University, Canada. His research focuses on marine geomorphology, coastal dynamics, and Quaternary geology, with an emphasis on glaciation, deglaciation, and relative sea level changes. He leads the Laboratoire de géoscience marine (LGM) and is a member of the Centre d'étude Nordique and Québec-Océan.
- Ph.D. in Geographic Sciences (1996-2000), Université Laval
- M.Sc. in Geographic Sciences and Remote Sensing (1994-1996), Université de Sherbrooke
- B.Sc. (1990-1993), Université de Sherbrooke
His research spans marine and coastal geomorphology, glaciation and deglaciation, and sedimentological processes in Arctic and boreal environments. Recent publications highlight studies of impact crater lakes, turbidity currents, and ice sheet dynamics in the Canadian Arctic and Shield regions.
Dr. Lajeunesse has received recognition for scientific contributions, including being named among the 10 most significant scientific contributions in Quebec in 2015 and 2012. He has directed international symposia and contributed to multidisciplinary studies on geological hazards and paleoclimate reconstruction.
