Patrick Hopkins

Patrick Hopkins is a Professor of Philosophy at Millsaps College and holds the Jennie Carlisle Golding Chair of Philosophy. He also serves as a Professor of Psychiatry and Human Behavior at the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC), where he is a Principal Staff Member of the Center for Bioethics and Medical Humanities. His expertise spans moral psychology, ethics, and philosophy of mind, with notable contributions to biomedical ethics and science/technology studies.

His research integrates applied ethics with interdisciplinary topics like gender studies, religious studies, and technology. Recent publications include Sexual Ethics: An Anthology (2023) and a 2021 article on pandemic heroism rhetoric in healthcare.
