Patrick Chura is a Professor specializing in nineteenth and twentieth-century American literature and cultural studies. He has authored two books and numerous articles on literary-historical topics.
- His second book, Thoreau the Land Surveyor, received the College English Association of Ohio’s Dasher Award for outstanding literary scholarship.
- He recently published a new edition of Ernest Poole’s The Harbor in the Penguin Classics series.
Chura has been actively involved in translating Lithuanian-language texts into English, supported by grants such as a 2009 European Union award for Baltic literature and drama research and 2015 Lithuanian Ministry of Education funding to establish the Atgaiva Oral History Archive in Šiauliai.
He has served on the editorial boards of The Eugene O’Neill Review and Lituanus, and his international experience includes being a Peace Corps Volunteer and receiving three Fulbright grants for teaching and research in Lithuania, United Kingdom, and Vietnam.
