Patrick C.K. Woo is an Instructor in the Department of East Asian Languages and Literatures at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa. He is affiliated with the College of Languages, Linguistics and Literature. He has been recognized with the 2007 Frances Davis Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching and the 2013 Excellence in Teaching Award from his college.
Patrick holds a Ph.D. in Japanese Literature from the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa (2015), an MA in Japanese (1990), and dual BAs: one in Japanese with High Honors and another in Economics with Honors, both completed in 1988 at the same institution.
His research focuses on Modern Japanese Literature, particularly Japanese Christian novelists and the reception of their works in Japan. He has conducted in-depth studies on authors like Miura Ayako, exploring the intersection of religion and literature in Japanese contexts.
