Patricia M. Flynn is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology at Loma Linda University. She holds a PhD in Psychology (2005) and an MPH in Health Promotion and Education (2008), both from Loma Linda University. Her research focuses on cultural and health psychology, particularly addressing health disparities, implicit bias in healthcare, and culturally competent interventions for chronic illnesses like diabetes.
Dr. Flynn leads the Culture and Behavior Laboratory, dedicated to advancing culturally informed approaches to health behavior and equity. Current projects include reducing implicit bias in healthcare interactions, improving STEM diversity, and developing culturally relevant diabetes interventions. She has co-authored over 20 peer-reviewed articles and presented at conferences such as the Western Psychological Association and the Association for Psychological Science.
Her professional memberships span organizations like the American Psychological Association (APA) and the Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues. Community engagement includes volunteering with the American Cancer Society and CoachArt, emphasizing health equity advocacy.
