Dr. Patricia LoRusso is the Amy and Joseph Perella Professor of Medicine in Medical Oncology at Yale School of Medicine and serves as Chief of Experimental Therapeutics and Associate Cancer Center Director for Experimental Therapeutics at Yale Cancer Center. With over 25 years of expertise, she specializes in medical oncology, drug development, and early phase clinical trials. Dr. LoRusso leads the Phase I clinical trials infusion center at Smilow Cancer Hospital at Yale New Haven, focusing on bringing research breakthroughs into clinical practice for patients with various stages of cancer.

She has also been active on scientific committees of the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) and the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), as well as various peer-reviewed study sections and NCI committees. As a former editor of Investigational New Drugs and current editorial board member for Clinical Cancer Research, she has significantly contributed to advancing cancer research literature. Her mentorship extends through her role in directing early phase clinical trials programs, where she has trained numerous oncologists in drug development and clinical trial methodology.
Dr. LoRusso leads the Phase I clinical trials infusion center at Smilow Cancer Hospital, fostering a warm, team-focused approach that puts patients at the center of care. She is actively involved in multiple research teams at Yale Cancer Center, collaborating with frequent co-authors including Roy S. Herbst, MD, PhD; Ian Krop, MD, PhD; Michael Cecchini, MD; and Navid Hafez, MD, MPH.
