Dr. Pamela L. Kunz is a Professor of Internal Medicine (Medical Oncology) at Yale School of Medicine. She serves as Director of the Center for Gastrointestinal Cancers at Smilow Cancer Hospital and Chief of GI Medical Oncology. Her expertise focuses on neuroendocrine tumors (NETs), gastrointestinal malignancies, and clinical trials. She leads initiatives in translational research, including the NETTER-2 phase III trial evaluating [177Lu]Lu-DOTA-TATE therapy. Dr. Kunz also chairs the NCI Neuroendocrine Tumor Taskforce and serves on the FDA’s Oncology Drug Advisory Committee.
Education: MD from Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth (2001), BA in Biology from Dartmouth College (1994). Training includes residency and fellowship at Stanford University.
Research interests include NET epidemiology, radiopharmaceutical therapies, and health equity in oncology. She has authored over 150 peer-reviewed publications and serves as Editor-in-Chief of JCO Oncology Advances. Awards include the 2021 'Woman Oncologist of the Year' for gender equity advocacy.
Active clinical trials include ACTION-1 (RYZ101 for GEP-NETs) and postoperative chemotherapy trials for pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors. She co-leads diversity initiatives through YSM’s Status of Women in Medicine Committee and DEI efforts in medical oncology.
