Patricia Griffin is a Lecturer in History & Theory of Design: Visual Communication at Belfast School of Art, Ulster University. She holds a BA Hons in Fine Art, MPhil in Media and Film, and a Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education Practice.

Her research focuses on film/photography practice and theory, screenwriting, and participatory models of portrait-making. She is currently a part-time PhD student exploring collaborative portrait-making approaches.
Patricia's creative outputs include projects like Pictures of Otherness (HIV in Northern Ireland), My Mother's House (gender representation), and Being A Boy (urban photography). Her work intersects with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly in social inclusion.

She actively contributes to the Art and Design Research Institute and completed Research Integrity Training in 2019.
