Patricia Creighton serves as a Part-Time Academic at Dalhousie University's Fountain School of Performing Arts and has held the position of Principal Flautist with Symphony Nova Scotia since 1984. Her extensive career spans baroque to contemporary repertoire, featuring collaborations with internationally renowned musicians including Isaac Stern, Julius Baker, and Anton Kuerti.
She earned a BMus from the University of Toronto and studied at the Banff Centre for the Performing Arts under master flutists Louis Moyse, Jeanne Baxtresser, Marcel Moyse, Nora Shulman, Julius Baker, and Jean-Pierre Rampal.
Her research and creative focus centers on flute performance pedagogy and cross-cultural musical exploration. Notable projects include improvisational works blending Celtic traditions with non-Western instruments like the didgeridoo, demonstrating her commitment to expanding classical music boundaries through innovative collaborations and thematic concepts rooted in ancient cultural practices.
