Patricia Correa is a Senior Lecturer in Politics and International Relations at Aston University, affiliated with the Aston Centre for Europe (ACE) Society and Politics. She holds a PhD from the Autonomous University of Barcelona and previously served as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Exeter. Her research focuses on political parties' organizational dynamics, digitalization, and Spain's political landscape, with secondary interests in comparative federalism and party activism.
Her work explores how political parties adapt to systemic changes, digital transformation, and the evolving roles of party members and elites. Recent publications analyze Spain's party activism, the impact of austerity, and digital strategies in European parties. She collaborates with networks like DIGiPART and the Centre for Elections, Democracy, Accountability, and Representation (CEDAR).
Dr. Correa teaches modules on comparative government, political parties, and research methods. She supervises PhD students in political parties, Spanish politics, and territorial politics. Her research has been featured in outlets like Party Politics and Journal of Politics, reflecting her interdisciplinary approach to political science.
