Ed Turner is a Reader in Politics, History and International Relations at Aston University's Aston Centre for Europe (ACE). He serves as Associate Dean for Research Impact in the College of Business and Social Sciences, promoting research engagement with external beneficiaries. His research focuses on German politics, comparative politics (particularly political parties, federalism, and public policy), and UK housing policy. Turner has led DAAD-funded projects, including a study on the pandemic's impact on territorial politics. He previously served in the UK's Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (2018–2020) and advises on housing policy via reviews like the Harman Review and Technical Housing Standards Review.
