Patricia Coburn

Dr. Patricia Coburn is a faculty member at Kwantlen Polytechnic University's Psychology Department. She holds a BA (Hons) from KPU, and MA and PhD from Simon Fraser University in Psychology and Law. Her research focuses on legal decision-making, witness memory and credibility, sexual violence, children in the law, and child abuse in Canada.

Dr. Coburn's scholarly work spans forensic psychology, memory studies, and criminology, with recent publications analyzing gender disparities in abuse cases, prosecution delays, and credibility assessments for child witnesses.

As degree coordinator, Dr. Coburn co-organizes KPU PSYC DAY and Connecting Minds conferences, and leads the Kwantlen Psychology Student Journal to engage students in publishing processes.

She teaches foundational courses in psychology including Introduction to Psychology, Experimental Psychology, Cognition, and Psychology and Law.
