Her internationally recognized work bridges building performance analytics with social justice to democratize high-performance building.
Her educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design from LaRoche College and a Master of Architecture from the University of Oklahoma, where she was a Fulbright Student Scholar at the Technical University of Slovakia researching mass housing effectiveness. She previously taught as a Visiting Professor in Beirut.
Dr. Andrasik's research focuses on sustainable design strategies, net zero building systems, and performance metrics for operational evaluation. Her work has been featured in the Journal of the National Institute of Building Sciences, New Buildings Institute National Forum, and AIA/COTE Sustainability Leadership Conference. She integrates technology and social equity into building performance frameworks, emphasizing accessibility in sustainable design.
Her publications demonstrate a progression from foundational building systems (Heating Cooling Lighting, 2020) to educational models (LEED Lab, 2021) and specialized infrastructure (Plumbing, Electricity and Acoustics, 2024), consistently prioritizing practical implementation of net zero strategies across diverse building types and scales.
Scientific awards include:
- President’s Award for the Advancement of Teaching at CUA (2015)
- Fulbright Student Scholar
As an educator, she developed courses including Building Performance Analytics and LEED Lab, which serves as a campus-wide building assessment model. Her grant work includes leading BEEnow initiatives that reshape sustainable design curricula nationwide. Current projects involve contributing to Green Discipleship on technology in environmental ethics and expanding LEED Lab frameworks to underserved communities.
She maintains active industry engagement through LEED BD+C and O+M certifications, AIA, and IIDA memberships, driving practical application of her research in real-world building operations.
