Courtney Crosson is an Associate Professor at the University of Arizona's College of Architecture, Planning and Landscape Architecture (CAPLA), where she directs the Drachman Institute and serves as Faculty Advisor for the Urban Design Concentration. She holds a Master of Architecture from Yale University and a BA in Art History from Duke University. Her academic leadership includes community-engaged studios tackling urban sustainability through city/county-funded projects.
Her research advances decentralized water/energy systems to address urban challenges globally—from water scarcity in the U.S. Southwest to water access in Nairobi's informal settlements. Work spans net-zero infrastructure, sustainable resource evaluation, urban design, and infrastructure optimization. Her publications demonstrate consistent focus on sustainable urban systems, particularly water resilience and community-centered solutions across diverse contexts.
