Clinical Associate Professor of Accounting at The Pennsylvania State University's Smeal College of Business since Fall 2014. Previously served as a tenured Associate Professor at Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania. Holds a PhD in Public Administration (Penn State, 2007), MBA (Penn State, 2003), BA in Professional Accountancy (Penn State, 1986), and AA in Business Administration (Harrisburg Area Community College, 1984).
Research focuses on fiscal distress in municipal governments, supported by grants from the Center for Rural Pennsylvania and bipartisan think tanks. Teaching emphasizes accessibility through simulations, service learning, and student presentations, covering forensic accounting, auditing, and government accounting. Recipient of the 2014 Faculty Mentor of the Year award by Shippensburg University student athletes.
Certified as a CPA, Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), and Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM).
