Patrice Hartnett, PhD is an Associate Teaching Professor in the Department of Psychology within the College of Arts & Sciences at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. She maintains her office in Liberal Arts 388 and can be reached at 508-999-8361 or phartnett@umassd.edu.
Dr. Hartnett earned her PhD and MA from the University of Pennsylvania in 1991 and 1984 respectively, and completed her BS at Bucknell University in 1983.
Her teaching expertise spans several areas of psychology with a focus on developmental processes across the lifespan. Dr. Hartnett teaches courses including General Psychology, Child Psychology, Adolescent Psychology, and Lifespan Human Development. Her curriculum emphasizes understanding developmental changes from pre-conception through death, with attention to physical, cognitive, and social-emotional domains across different life stages.
Dr. Hartnett teaches several key courses in the psychology curriculum:
