Pat Chung

Dr. Pat Chung serves as a Senior Lecturer in Occupational Therapy at Canterbury Christ Church University, where she functions as a Research Supervisor within the Allied Health Professions and Dental Practice unit. Her clinical background spans senior occupational therapy roles across NHS England settings, specializing in community mental health for older adults and geriatric rehabilitation.

She earned her PhD from the University of Southampton in 2010, with doctoral research examining dementia patients' activity engagement through family carers' perspectives—a direct extension of her clinical work.

Her research program centers on person-centred dementia care, integrating family caregiving dynamics and therapeutic activity enablement. As an active HEDN (Higher Education Dementia Network) member, she drives dementia care education initiatives and co-led the 'Time for Dementia' programme (2016-2018) with Brighton University.
