Pasi A. Jänne is Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School and Senior Vice President for Translational Medicine at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, where he holds the David M. Livingston, MD Chair. He directs the Belfer Center for Applied Cancer Science and Chen-Huang Center for EGFR Mutant Lung Cancers.
Medical degree and PhD from University of Pennsylvania (1996), residency at Brigham and Women's Hospital, and fellowship at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
Research focuses on therapeutic targeting of oncogenic alterations in lung cancer. Co-discovered EGFR mutations and developed corresponding therapeutic strategies, significantly advancing lung cancer treatment paradigms.
Clinical practice specializes in thoracic oncology with emphasis on EGFR-targeted therapies and translational approaches.
