Dr. Parthiban Babu is a Lecturer in Law at the School of Law, University of Northampton, where he teaches modules such as Green Crime and Intellectual Property Rights in Commerce. He holds a PhD and MPhil in International Law from South Asian University, India, an LLM and BL (Hons) in Law from Tamil Nadu Dr Ambedkar Law University, and a BBA from the University of Madras.

His research focuses on critical theories of international law, particularly the Revivalist approach and Hybrid Universality, challenging dominant Western-centric narratives. He explores the historical foundations of international law, the role of the International Court of Justice, state immunity, treaty practice, data sovereignty, and gender justice in South Asia. His work critically engages with legal pluralism, postcolonial theory, and the politics of narrative in international legal discourse.
His recent publications span book chapters, articles, and reviews in journals such as the Asian Journal of International Law, Jindal Global Law Review, and Volkerrechtsblog. Themes across his recent works include treaty interpretation, data governance, religious misogyny, and the evolving role of international institutions. He has contributed to debates on jurisdiction, sovereignty, and the decolonization of international law, often in collaboration with Dr. S.R. Garimella.
His scientific recognition includes a Visiting Doctoral Fellowship at The Hague Academy of International Law in 2022. He is also an Associate Member of RIPIL at the University of the West of England and actively contributes to academic discourse through peer review, blogging, and conference presentations.
