Parker Henley is an Assistant Professor and Extension Specialist for Beef Seedstock Management in the Department of Animal & Food Sciences at Oklahoma State University (OSU). He holds the Dr. Robert 'Bob' Totusek Endowed Chair Fellow title and is the livestock judging team coach, leading national championship teams in 2021, 2022, and 2023. His roles combine extension work in beef cattle management with teaching responsibilities.
Education: PhD (2020) and MS (2017) in Animal Sciences from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign; BS (2014) in Animal Science from Kansas State University; AAS (2012) in Liberal Arts from Butler Community College.
Research focuses on beef cattle nutrition, reproductive management, and systems optimization. Key areas include heifer development, feedlot performance, and pasture grazing strategies. His extension work emphasizes youth livestock education and seedstock management practices.
Teaching includes courses on livestock evaluation, beef management, and peer-led learning in animal science. He has instructed over 50 courses since 2020, emphasizing practical application of animal science principles.
Awards include multiple Coach of the Year titles (2021-2022) and national recognition for livestock judging coaching. His family operates Angus and Charolais cattle operations in Missouri, contributing to applied research insights.
