معرفی
Paolo Nanni is a senior researcher and Unit Head of Proteomics at the Functional Genomics Center Zurich (FGCZ), affiliated with ETH Zurich. He coordinates proteomics workflows and applications while supporting diverse analytical workflows including amino acid analysis, protein characterization, and proteome quantification. He actively participates in the LS2 Proteomics Section as part of the Executive Committee and contributes to the proteomics workgroup within the Core for Life alliance. His work focuses on advancing proteomics methodologies, software development for differential expression analysis, and cross-disciplinary applications in clinical research, microbiology, and archaeology.
Research Interests
- Mass spectrometry-based quantitative proteomics
- Biomarker discovery in periodontal and inflammatory diseases
- Development of proteomics software tools (prolfqua, prolfquapp)
- Microbial proteomics and host-pathogen interactions
- Paleoproteomics for historical diet reconstruction
Selected Publications (2021-2025) demonstrate expertise in proteomics standardization, bioinformatics tool development, and applications spanning cancer immunotherapy, microbial biofilms, and food security studies. His work emphasizes multi-lab collaboration and reproducibility in proteomics research.
Contributions include participation in international consortia, clinical proteomics for disease characterization, and methodological innovations in chromatographic separation and ADP-ribosylation site identification. He maintains active collaborations across disciplines including oncology, microbiology, and archaeology.
