Paolo Frassi serves as a Full Professor in the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures at the University of Verona, specializing in French Language, Translation and Linguistics (academic sector FRAN-01/B). His office is located in Palazzo di Lettere, Floor 1, Room 1.11, where he holds office hours on Wednesdays from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM.
Professor Frassi's research focuses on lexicology and lexicography with particular emphasis on lexicographical definition and phraseological units, metalexicography (both monolingual and bilingual dictionaries), and innovative methods for French language teaching. His work intersects with pragmatics, sociolinguistics, and discourse analysis as indicated by his ERC research sector SH4_11 classification.
He has collaborated extensively with the RL-fr project (Réseau Lexical du Français - Laboratoire ATILF-CNRS, Nancy) and the University of Quebec in Montréal to develop innovative approaches for teaching and learning lexicon using contemporary lexicographic resources.
Professor Frassi serves as a member of various academic bodies including the PhD Council for Foreign Literatures and Languages, Teaching Committees, and was previously the Departmental Representative (Project Manager) for the Excellence Project 'Digital Humanities applied to foreign languages and literatures.'
