Paolo Contu

Paolo Contu is a Professor of Public Health and Health Promotion at the University of Cagliari, Italy. He served as Dean of the Faculty of Medicine from 2012 to 2015. Since 2019, he has been the IUHPE (International Union for Health Promotion and Education) Vice President for Europe. He has held prominent roles in IUHPE, including Vice President for Capacity Building, Education, and Training (2010–2016) and Vice President for Communications (2016–2019). He is a founding member of the European Training Consortium in Public Health and Health Promotion (ETC-PHHP), organizing summer courses in health promotion since 1995. His work focuses on advancing health promotion strategies, salutogenesis, and global health policy.

Contu has been instrumental in organizing major conferences, including the 12th European Conference on Health Promotion and the 7th International Conference on Salutogenesis. His professional contributions bridge academia and international health governance, emphasizing education and training in public health.
