Georg F. Bauer is a Professor and head of the Division of Public and Organizational Health and the Center of Salutogenesis at the University of Zurich, Switzerland. He holds an MD, MPH from the University of California, Berkeley School of Public Health, and a DrPH in work and organizational psychology from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology. His research focuses on salutogenesis—the study of factors that support human health and resilience—and positive health development in workplace and organizational contexts.
He chairs the IUHPE Global Working Group on Salutogenesis and has organized major conferences such as the 12th European Conference on Health Promotion and the 7th International Conference on Salutogenesis. His academic affiliations include leadership roles in both the Institute of Epidemiology, Biostatistics and Prevention and the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology.
