Paola Eiras

Dr Paola Eiras is a Lecturer in International Studies and Global Societies at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), affiliated with the Faculty of Design and Society and the School of International Studies and Education. She coordinates the 'Intercultural and International Communication' subject in UTS's Master's programs and serves as Global & Professional Experiences Coordinator for the Bachelor of Arts in International Studies. Her transnational academic journey spans Brazil, the UK, China, Denmark, and Australia.

Her research focuses on cultural identities, student belonging in higher education, and qualitative methodologies. She critiques the disconnect between internationalisation discourses and student experiences, advocating for humanistic values in educational policies. Recent work examines internationalisation in Danish HE contexts and transnational university dynamics in China.

Dr Eiras has supervised interdisciplinary research groups and contributed to collaborative projects across European and Asian institutions. She is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and certified translator (NAATI, Australia).
