Paola Ceccarelli is a Professor of Ancient Greek History at University College London (UCL), specializing in the cultural history and historiography of the classical and Hellenistic periods. Her research focuses on ancient performance culture, concepts of space and identity, and Greek epistolography. She holds a PhD from Scuola Normale Superiore (1989) and has held academic positions at institutions including Durham University and Cambridge, where she contributed to founding the Centre for the Study of the Ancient Mediterranean and the Near East. Currently, she leads projects like the edition of the Seleukid Royal Correspondence. Her teaching includes courses on Greek historiography and ancient knowledge transmission.
