Professor Pamela C Ronald holds a dual appointment in the Department of Plant Pathology and the Genome Center at the University of California, Davis, where she directs Grass Genetics research at the Joint Bioenergy Institute (JBEI) in Emeryville. Dr. Ronald's laboratory investigates molecular mechanisms of plant-pathogen interactions, specializing in rice immune receptors like XA21 and their role in combating bacterial blight caused by Xanthomonas oryzae.
