Pamela Beasley is a Lecturer in Voice and Vocal Coordinator at the University of Virginia's Department of Music since 2004. She holds faculty experience at institutions like James Madison University, Mary Baldwin University, and Auburn University at Montgomery, specializing in applied voice, vocal pedagogy, and opera workshops. Her professional affiliations include NATS (National Association of Teachers of Singing) where she served on state governance boards.
Educationally, she earned degrees from Southwestern Seminary and the University of Montevallo, with additional studies at Boston and Shenandoah Conservatories. Her vocal training includes masterclasses with renowned artists like Renee Fleming and Martin Katz.
Beasley's research interests focus on vocal technique, performance practices in opera and oratorio, and pedagogical methodologies. She co-directs the ensemble Voice for the Stage and has led masterclasses nationally. Her awards include recognition as an Outstanding Woman of America and inclusion in Who’s Who in America.
Her teaching impacts students pursuing professional careers in opera and music education, with many alumni performing at the Metropolitan Opera and international stages. She actively adjudicates vocal competitions and collaborates with ensembles like the Charlottesville Symphony and Virginia Consort.
