Paddy O'Connor is a Senior Lecturer (Education) at Queen's University Belfast's School of Psychology. He holds a BSc (First Class Honours, 2014) and PhD (2019) from QUB, supervised by Dr. Kinga Morsanyi and Prof. Teresa McCormack. He has been part-time lecturer at Belfast Metropolitan College (2018-2023) and a Research Assistant at QUB (2017-2020). His research focuses on developmental psychology, numerical cognition, statistical education, and educational equity. He coordinates modules like Psychology Thesis and leads the School's Education, Pedagogy, and Innovation Cluster (EPIC).

He has received awards for teaching innovation and pedagogical excellence, including the QUB School of Psychology Annual Teaching Award (2024). His work contributes to UN SDGs 4 (Quality Education) and 10 (Reduced Inequalities).
Research collaborations include the Researchers in Statistical Education (RoSE) network and the SMARVUS Dataset project. He has published widely on student learning strategies, statistical anxiety, and neurodiversity in academia.
