Donncha Hanna is a Professor and Reader in the School of Psychology at Queen’s University Belfast (QUB). He specializes in mental health research, focusing on risk and resilience factors, posttraumatic stress, and digital mental health. With an h-index of 23 and over 120 publications, he has supervised over 40 doctoral students. His roles include former Research Doctorate Director in Clinical Psychology and current School Post-Graduate Research Director.
Education: BSc (1st Class Honours in Psychology) and PhD from QUB (1999, 2004), Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education Teaching (2005). Awards include the QUB Teaching Award (2013) and Team of the Year (2016).
Research emphasizes quantitative methodologies, trauma measurement, and psychometric analysis. Recent projects include studies on Colombian trauma samples and the impact of trauma on reoffending. Teaching focuses on research methods and statistics, with bestselling textbooks in these areas.
