Paddy Kinyera is a Postdoctoral Researcher in Political Geography at the University of Bayreuth, Germany. His research focuses on the intersections of resource governance, political economy, and mobility in African contexts, particularly Uganda's oil sector. He holds a PhD from the Bayreuth International School of African Studies (BIGSAS) and a Master’s in African Studies from the University of Cologne, specializing in Resource Anthropology and the Albertine Graben region.
His field experience includes consultancy roles in oil-related projects, designing conflict response protocols, and multilevel policy dialogues. He has taught as a part-time Assistant Lecturer at Ugandan universities and served as a Research Assistant for the Cluster of Excellence on Politics and Religion at the University of Münster.
Key research interests include petroleum development politics, resource conflicts, and infrastructural governance. His publications analyze oil-induced mobilities, pandemic governance, and the socio-spatial impacts of Uganda's extractive industries. Current work contributes to governmentality studies through the lens of Uganda's resource governance dynamics.
