معرفی
PJ Walla is a Professor at the Technical University of Braunschweig, leading research in the Institute of Physical and Theoretical Chemistry within the Faculty of Life Sciences. The research group focuses on modern issues in biophysical chemistry and energy conversion, with particular emphasis on biomolecular and biomimetic processes related to solar energy generation.
Research interests span microscopy techniques for visualizing individual molecules and spectroscopy for resolving ultrafast kinetic processes. The group's work encompasses photosynthesis research, renewable energy technologies, nerve cell studies, and dye-doped polymers. Their expertise extends beyond linear optics to address diverse challenges in energy conversion.
Recent publications demonstrate significant contributions to luminescent solar concentrators, ultrafast energy funneling materials, and biomimetic light-harvesting systems. The research shows a clear trajectory toward improving solar energy harvesting efficiency through nanoscale engineering and biomimetic approaches.
- Supervisor of Paul Gäbler, recipient of Kekulé scholarship from the Chemical Industry Fund
- Supervisor of Franka Gädeke, recipient of doctoral scholarship from the German Academic Scholarship Foundation
The research group actively contributes to advancing solar energy technologies with practical applications in photovoltaics and sustainable energy solutions, maintaining strong publication output in high-impact journals.
