P. Whitney Lackenbauer is a Tier 1 Canada Research Chair in the Study of the Canadian North and Professor at Trent University’s School for the Study of Canada. His work focuses on Arctic sovereignty, security, and Indigenous-state relations, with particular attention to policy implications. He holds degrees from St. Jerome’s/Waterloo and the University of Calgary.
Research emphasizes northern communities’ agency in shaping policy, advocating for evidence-based approaches rooted in social justice.
