Oğuzhan Saygılı, Professor at Gaziantep University Faculty of Medicine, specializes in Ophthalmology and Vitreoretinal Surgery. He has contributed extensively to Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP) research, intraocular pressure dynamics, and pterygium molecular mechanisms.
- Current Affiliation: Gaziantep University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Surgical Medical Sciences
- Education: Istanbul University Faculty of Medicine (1988), Gaziantep University Medical Specialization (1992)
His research spans Ophthalmology, Medical Genetics, and Pediatric Eye Diseases, with a focus on ROP screening, corneal endothelial cell behavior, and genetic polymorphisms in ocular diseases. Recent work includes macular hole surgery without postoperative positioning and novel scleral fixation techniques.
Scientific trends in his publications include retinal surgery, intraocular lens innovations, and molecular ophthalmology. Notable collaborations exist with Seyyar Sevim Ayça, Mete Alper, and Güngör Kıvanç.
He mentors students in ophthalmic research, with theses on hydroxychloroquine retinal effects, choroidal thickness in glaucoma, and silicone oil tamponade impacts. Grants include projects on laser-induced intraocular pressure changes and ICAM gene expression in pterygium.
