Professor ALPER METE is a distinguished academic and clinician in the Department of Ophthalmology at Gaziantep University Faculty of Medicine. He serves as a Professor and has held administrative positions including Deputy Chief Physician (2022-present) and Cornea Bank Director (2017-present). His academic career spans over a decade at Gaziantep University, where he was promoted from Associate Professor in 2018 to his current Professor position.

Recent work focuses on emerging areas including the ocular effects of COVID-19, advanced imaging techniques like OCT angiography, and the intersection of systemic diseases with eye health. His publications span high-impact ophthalmology journals including International Ophthalmology, Indian Journal of Ophthalmology, and Arquivos Brasileiros de Oftalmologia.
