Owen Slade is a Professor at the Royal College of Music's Faculty of Brass. Born in Birmingham in 1963, he studied under Fred Devereux and John Jenkins at RCM, joining the London Philharmonic Orchestra in 1986. He premiered Sir Harrison Birtwistle’s Cry of Anubis for solo tuba and orchestra in 1995 and became an RCM professor in 1997.
