Ousman M Kobo is an Associate Professor in the History Department at Ohio State University. He holds a BA (Honors) and MA (International Relations) from City College of New York, and a Ph.D. in History from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Research Interests: 20th-century West African social/religious history, contemporary Islamic studies, Sufism, Islam under colonialism, and West African migration to the US.

- Boren Fellowship
- Distinguished Service Award (1997)
He is currently writing a book on Muslim leaders and French colonial administration in Burkina Faso (1920-1946).
