Dr. Ottilie Austin serves as Professor in the Department of Curriculum, Instruction & Special Education at the University of Virginia's School of Education and Human Development. With continuous service since 1998, she has held leadership positions including Associate Director of Reading Outreach (2005-2017), Program Coordinator (2017-2019), and current Coordinator of the Curriculum & Instruction Ed.S. degree program. She teaches online courses and advises master's and educational specialist students across multiple graduate programs.

Professor Austin's research centers on literacy development in content areas, instructional coaching frameworks, and evidence-based online course design. Her scholarship addresses adult learner engagement in digital environments with presentations at national conferences.
She maintains active service roles including General Faculty Council representation (2006-2009) and EHD Faculty Council duties (2020-2022), while continuing direct involvement in graduate student mentorship and program development for the Curriculum & Instruction M.Ed., Ed.S., and Reading Education M.Ed. tracks.
