Dr. Osman Akşit is an Assistant Professor at the Physics Education Department of Bogazici University. He holds a PhD in Science Education (2018) and MSc in Management Information Systems (2014) from Bogazici University, with a BSc in Physics Education (2009).
His research focuses on:
- Computational and systems thinking in physics education
- Model-based learning and modeling tools
- Climate change understanding and risk perception
- Game-based learning environments
- Item-response theory in educational assessment
Recent work highlights computational modeling interventions in middle school science, NSF-funded projects during his doctorate, and multimodal assessment frameworks integrating real-time drawing/writing analysis.
