Dr. Oskar Roemeling is an Associate Professor and Program Director BDK at the University of Groningen's Faculty of Economics and Business, Department of Innovation Management & Strategy. He holds the Aletta Coordinator role at the Aletta Jacobs School of Public Health and is a member of the Lean in Healthcare foundation. His expertise spans Lean management in healthcare, value-based healthcare, and operations management.
Education: PhD (2016) in Operations Management from the University of Groningen; MSc Human Resource Management (2010) and MSc Psychology (2008), both from the University of Groningen.
Research Interests: Continuous improvement methodologies (Lean/Six Sigma), healthcare sustainability, leadership in healthcare systems, and organizational change. Recent work focuses on decarbonizing surgical care and lean leadership impact.
Teaching & Roles: Teaches healthcare management, innovation, and change management across BSc/MSc programs and executive education. Coordinates the Bachelor Business Administration program and contributes to the More Healthy Years minor and Management of Transfusion Medicine programs.
Professional Activities: Involved in projects like the INPHECT program for PhD students and serves on the Lean in Healthcare foundation.
