معرفی
Dr. Oskar Brattström is a Lecturer in Ecology & Environmental Change at the University of Glasgow's School of Life Sciences. His research focuses on butterfly ecology, evolutionary biology, and biodiversity, particularly in tropical and African ecosystems. He explores topics such as phenotypic plasticity, climate adaptation, and phylogenetic diversification.
His work includes studies on Bicyclus butterflies, examining how climatic factors drive evolutionary changes and diversification. He has contributed significantly to taxonomic revisions of butterfly species, notably in Africa and Western Nigeria.
Dr. Brattström advises two PhD students: Joseph Izang Ibrahim and Corin Stansfield, focusing on butterfly monitoring protocols and developmental bias mechanisms. His research integrates stable isotope ecology, molecular phylogenetics, and behavioral studies to understand ecological and evolutionary processes.
His publications span over two decades, addressing topics from migration ecology to genetic drivers of reproductive isolation. He collaborates widely, with notable co-authors including Paul Brakefield, Steve Collins, and Niklas Wahlberg.
