معرفی
Dr. Orpheus Butler is an ARC DECRA Fellow at Griffith University's School of Environment and Science, affiliated with the Australian Rivers Institute. His research focuses on soil organisms, biogeochemical processes, and ecosystem responses to environmental change, including fire regimes, climate shifts, and land-use alterations. He holds a postdoctoral background from the University of Sydney and the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute.
Research Interests: Butler investigates the ecology, ecophysiology, and biogeochemical roles of soil organisms in contexts such as altered fire regimes, warming, and land-use changes. His work integrates field experiments, isotopic tracing, and collaborative global analyses to understand nutrient cycling dynamics.
Funded Research:
- ARC DECRA Grant (2023–2026): Examines plant-soil feedbacks in fire-affected ecosystems ($501,301).
- AAS Thomas Davies Grant (2023–2024): Explores molybdenum's role in soil formation ($4,648).
Awards:
- ARC DECRA Fellow (2023–present)
- Australian Academy of Science Research Grant (2023)
Labs & Collaborations: Active within Griffith's Australian Rivers Institute, focusing on interdisciplinary environmental research. Collaborates globally, including with institutions in China and Panama.
