Oriane Calligaro serves as a Visiting Professor at the College of Europe within the Interdepartmental European Advanced Studies (IDEAs) program. She concurrently holds the position of Associate Professor in Political Science at ESPOL (Université catholique de Lille) and functions as an Associate Researcher at the Université libre de Bruxelles (CEVIPOL), where she also co-directs the academic journal Politique européenne.
Her academic foundation includes a PhD from the European University Institute in Florence, complemented by research assistantship at the Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies (EUDO Citizenship Observatory). Previous appointments encompass Research Fellow and Lecturer roles at the Institute for European Studies/CEVIPOL (Université libre de Bruxelles), Humboldt Foundation Research Fellowship at Munich's IFZ, and Lecturer in European Studies at Maastricht University.
Dr. Calligaro's research critically examines EU policy mechanisms, with primary focus on cultural and academic domain governance and the operationalization of values in European integration. Her secondary research trajectory analyzes NGO and private foundation influence on EU anti-discrimination frameworks, evidenced by her monograph Negotiating Europe: The EU promotion of Europeanness since the 1950s (Palgrave Macmillan, 2013) and co-edited volume European values: Challenges and opportunities for EU governance (Routledge, 2018). These works establish her expertise in normative EU policy diffusion and civil society engagement within supranational governance structures.
