Orhan Kara is a Professor and former chairperson in the Department of Economics and Finance at West Chester University's College of Business & Public Management. He holds two Ph.D. degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and Milwaukee, with specializations in human capital economics, international trade, and entrepreneurship.
His research examines rate of return to education investments, gender wage discrimination, international trade flows, inflation/exchange rate relationships, and entrepreneurship in developing economies. He has published in journals including International Review of Applied Economics, Journal of Economic Studies, and Journal of Small Business Management. He has served as President of the Pennsylvania Economic Association.
