Oren Bar-Gill is a Professor of Law at New York University School of Law, specializing in the law and economics of contracts, consumer markets, and behavioral economics. He holds a SJD from Harvard Law School and a PhD in Economics from Tel-Aviv University. His research focuses on consumer contracts, algorithmic regulation, and the intersection of psychology and legal frameworks. Bar-Gill has authored influential books and articles, including Seduction by Contract and works on algorithmic harm and nudge theory. He serves as Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Legal Analysis and has received prestigious awards like the American Law Institute’s Young Scholars Medal (2011) and the American Law and Economics Review’s Best Paper Prize (2017). His teaching includes courses on consumer contracts, law and economics, and legal theory.
Bar-Gill’s work addresses contemporary issues such as algorithmic bias, consumer privacy, and regulatory strategies in digital markets.
