Onno Meijer is a Professor in Molecular Neuroendocrinology of Corticosteroids at the Department of Medicine, Leiden University Medical Centre (LUMC), Leiden University. His research focuses on the molecular mechanisms of corticosteroid signaling in neuroendocrine systems, particularly in the context of stress-related disorders and migraine pathophysiology. He is affiliated with the Nuclear Receptor Research Network, Stress-NL foundation, and holds a guest professorship at China Medical University in Shenyang.
His work bridges translational neuroscience with vascular and regenerative medicine, contributing to understanding glucocorticoid receptor activation in neurological conditions. Key collaborations include studies on familial hemiplegic migraine using Cacna1a knock-in mouse models.
