Prof. Alberto Pereira Arias is a Professor of Medicine specializing in endocrine tumors at Leiden University Medical Center (LUMC). He chairs the Center for Endocrine Tumors Leiden, a national expertise center, and leads multidisciplinary efforts in care, research, and education for endocrine tumors. His career spans roles as Head of the Division of Endocrinology and leadership in international networks like Endo-ERN.
His research focuses on endocrine tumor biology, molecular genetics, targeted therapies, and the impact of stress hormones on brain function in pituitary disease. He has contributed to national and international guidelines for rare endocrine conditions.
