Onita Das

Onita Das is a Senior Lecturer in Law at the Faculty of Law, University of the West of England (UWE Bristol). She specializes in sustainable development, environmental protection in armed conflict, international environmental law, and human rights and the environment. Her research has been cited in International Law Commission reports on environmental protection during armed conflicts.

Her work focuses on environmental crime, land grabbing from a sustainable development perspective, and collaborative projects with the Global Network for Human Rights and the Environment (GNHRE). She has contributed to postgraduate teaching in International Environmental Law and undergraduate Environmental Law modules.

She served as Head of the Environmental Law Research Unit at UWE Bristol from 2015 to 2019 and has participated in international workshops, including the University of Lund (2012) and TRW Network Launch (2013). She was a Visiting Fellow at the Lauterpacht Centre for International Law in Cambridge in 2015.
