Omri D. Shimron is an Associate Professor of Music and Piano Area Coordinator at the Department of Music, California State University, East Bay. He specializes in piano performance, pedagogy, and contemporary music, with a focus on integrating holistic approaches to teaching and historically informed performance practices. His roles include leadership in professional organizations such as the California Association of Professional Music Teachers (CAPMT) and adjudication for competitions like the US Open Music Competition and Music Teachers Association of California (MTAC).
Shimron holds a Doctor of Musical Arts in Performance and Literature from the Eastman School of Music, along with advanced degrees in Music Theory Pedagogy and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Rochester.
