Margaret Perry is an Associate Professor of Practice at the Conservatory of Music, University of the Pacific. She serves as the group piano and piano pedagogy coordinator, and rehearsal pianist for the opera department. Her roles include teaching, collaborative performance, and administrative leadership in music education.
Education:
- Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Piano Performance and Pedagogy from Brigham Young University
- Doctor of Musical Arts in Piano Performance from the University of Arizona
Her research and performance interests focus on piano performance, pedagogy, and Italian classical music (e.g., Alfredo Casella and Gian Francesco Malipiero). She is active as a collaborative pianist with orchestras, operas, and choirs, including the Stockton Symphony, Utah Symphony, and Stockton Opera Association. Perry has performed extensively in the U.S. and Italy, including master classes with renowned pianists like Renato Premezzi and Dalton Baldwin.

Perry has led community engagement initiatives, such as bringing opera to schools with the Utah Symphony and Opera ensemble. She currently serves on the Music Teachers’ Association of California (MTAC) State Board as First Vice President, following roles as MTAC San Joaquin County Branch president and Lodi Branch recording secretary. She is also a member of the MTNA, CAPMT, Pi Kappa Lambda, and Phi Kappa Phi honor societies.
